Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day.
VALENTINE DRINKS
Hello Valentine.
HELLO, WHISKEY.
When you bring together whiskey and San Pellegrino’s Blood orange beverage (and a cherry) on Valentine’s Day you get a…
Whiskey Me Away!
I am so clever with naming things.
CLEVER.
An aside: You can use maraschino, but I recommend Luxardo cherries – DO THOSE (aff link).
On non-Valentine occasions this drink is actually called “The Paulsbo” because my husband came up with this tasty treasure because he is brilliant and loves whiskey and his name is Paul and we live in Poulsbo. So. Now you will know the origin of The Paulsbo/Whiskey Me Away.
Also, from what I understand, Poulsbo was supposed to be Paulsbo (Paul’s Port) but there was a document error and it was too much of a pain in the butt to correct hitherhencetofore POUlsbo and not PAUlsbo.
I hope I’m right about what I remember I heard.
Aaaaaanywho… how to make the Valentine drink Whiskey Me Away…
Pour one ounce of your choice whiskey into a short bar glass. Or two. Lately I’ve been going for two 😉
Fill the the rest of the glass (4-6 ounces) with cold San Pellegrino Blood Orange Beverage… AND A CHERRY.
WHISKEY ME AWAY INDEED…
