It’s Monday and therefore time for… THE MONDAY MINUTE. But first a little story. To explain the voiceless edition part…
I was sick last week.
I think the straw that broke the camel’s back (I guess I just called myself a camel) was when I joined Lucy’s class at the Museum of Flight as a chaperone on Thursday and despite my little group of 5th graders being awesome… I had to yell quite loud at one kiddo who was running a bit further than my voice could carry and…. poof.
It was an early field trip (we had to be at the school by 6:30). And a late one (got back a bit before 5). Then I drove Lucy and I straight through Dairy Queen, dropped her off with the food for her and her big sis… Made the teenage boy hop in the car and we headed out for a college/job fair in a town about 30 minutes away.
Then we had to run to the mall.
Then we got home and I could tell something was amiss.
Ah, but a mother’s life hath not time for her own illness. There was no school on Friday, but I still had about 5 hours of errands to run, including but not limited to two *emergency* visits for the … one to the pediatrician and one to the orthodontist. And a trip to the x-ray lab.
I finally got home late afternoon and COLLAPSED. I basically collapsed until 10:39 on Sunday morning when I awoke with a voice and enough energy to eat a donut.
Eventually I ran a couple loads of laundry and made pumpkin porridge (because I am starting another round of the Whole30 today) (follow me on Instagram at @thewholeavocado to see what I’m eating!
I also shot my Monday Minute on Saturday. It was the only productive thing I did. Besides watch HGTV. And have molten lava cake and ice cream for dinner. That was quite productive too.
