Subscription Box for Tweens
Lucy and I have been exploring subscription box services focusing on the tween set. This is our second *Tinker Crate box. The first one was a bit of a bust for us (hydraulic claw)… it was too complex for her, and we didn’t do an unboxing for that one. But we pressed on and this second box was a total win.
We have also unboxed a *Style Your Life Sprinkles Box (view and read here). It was a fun box. A great idea for gifting. The difference between a Sprinkles Box and Tinker Crate is the Tinker Crate is focused on building… and a project. The stuff in the Sprinkles box kept Lucy busy for awhile, but it didn’t develop a sense of curiosity.
Which is absolutely fine. Whimsy is important too. I just don’t think a regular subscription for whimsy fits for us. Her room is far too small and I am wanting to have less vs. more. I really do think the Sprinkles box is ideal for gifting or say your kiddo has been going through a tough patch… what a fun treat that would be!
The slime has run it’s course too, but now we are looking at making magnetic slime… (we even bought *black iron oxide last week) her creativity and sense of exploration was piqued. I think there’s a time and place for both, but especially during the summer I love the idea of a box with a project showing up at the door.
We have one other Tinker Crate box in the queue to share, AND and a Wonderful Objects Kids Box. The Wonderful Objects box was AWESOME. I cannot wait to share that one…it is serious imagination sparker! Until then, visit *Tinker Crate for information on their box service to see if it works for you or somekiddo you know!
