Diaper Drive Success!

by | Nov 15, 2010 | Uncategorized

every little bottomI want to send out a great big THANK YOU to Central Market in Poulsbo, Washington for their donation of space and $50 towards diapers… thank you to Central Market customers, and thank you to the community of people we have in Kitsap County!

We are so excited to share that we were able to raise 23 bags/boxes of diapers (totaling 961 diapers) AND $253. 71 in cash donations!

The cash donations were used to purchase more diapers and the diapers are now sitting ready to be given to families who need them at Christ Memorial for their upcoming even Operation Day of Hope on November 2oth.

I want to take a moment to thank my husband and dear friend Lisa, for taking charge of the drive in the hours of my absence… My role as mom had to take precedence in the middle of the drive so I could attend a very special mother-daughter tea with my 8 year old. I am so thankful to have a husband and friend who will not only back me up, but pour their hearts into this mission!

This is what my minivan looked like before I took the diapers to the church:

Which brings me to a point… something a my friend @minivangirl said when I thanked her for her donation… she talked about everyone doing a little bit makes a big impact.

So true.

Central Market provided a wonderful space, I was able to set-up a table, I had a team of support… and people gave. It really does take a village…

diaper drive!

From 20+ dollar bags of diapers to the 10 dollar bills, to 5 dollar bills to each and every one dollar bill… they all added up. And if I do my math right… once all the diapers are purchased… the diapers collected during 6 hours on a chilly November day will yield enough to diaper a baby for an entire year! Of course, these diapers will be shared with many families in need…

So, thank you. Thank you to my community for caring…

yay diapers!
