Viral Parenting: A Guide to Setting Boundaries, Building Trust, and Raising Responsible Kids in an Online World by Mindy McNight

Mindy and I met yeeeears ago in NYC at a fun little gathering at Bryant Park for video makers. She was a video idol of mine then (maybe you’ve hear of Cute Girls Hairstyles), and she still is (if you haven’t heard of her, chances are your kids have heard of her twins, Brooklyn & Bailey)! Mindy has raised her family in front of the camera… YouTube style. Her book Viral Parenting comes from someone who is in the thickest of the “thick of it”.

Also, she’s is such a down-to-earth, kind woman.

This book covers the digital parenting gamut… technology, home life, community, use contracts, boundaries, cyber bullies, guided example conversations, and more. This is a fantastic sit-and-read guidebook for today’s tech-consumed family. If you have kids and teens who live anywhere in the online world… this book is a fantastic resource. The Teen Girl’s Singing Guide – Tips for Making Singing the Center of Your Life by Nancy Bos

I met Nancy at a local coworking space, Vibe Coworks. Nancy has the most velvet speaking voice, so it came as no surprise to me that she is a vocal coach and knower-of-all things singing and voice! Since one of my daughters is very “into” singing, I thought it was especially cool that the author of a singing book written FOR teen girls lives right here in my very own community!

Nancy graciously gave me a copy of her book. By the time we met, my daughter had made singing (and acting) the center of her life, but this book is an excellent resource for teen girls wanting to dig deeper who need some guidance and encouragement. Nancy has such a kind, genuine heart that comes through in her book. As does her profound love for singing, and her deeply held belief that “singing makes people better”.
