Back to School Shopping With My Girls at Westfield Southcenter Mall

My girls and I had the BEST time shopping at Westfield Southcenter Mall in Seattle last week!

Though we have done back-to-school shopping in years past, my girls have gone to a public school with uniforms. This meant our shopping was limited to shoe creativity and only stores that offered uniform clothes.

But not anymore!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED uniforms. I can’t even tell y’all how easy uniforms make school mornings. On mom. But we with Livi moving into middle school and Lucy moving on to a new elementary school, we get to have REAL back-to-school shopping FUN!

We made a fun day of it, starting off with coffee for me and vanilla steamers for the girls.

And then we went shopping!

As we sat eating orange chicken and Subway on the food court, Livi looked at me and said, “This is really fun, mom.”

And then we texted my husband a picture of us having fun!

As luck would have it, Fifth Harmony was performing at Westfield Southcenter in Seattle the same day we were there. We got to attend an intimate meet-and-greet and the girls got a picture with the ladies.

The night before our shopping excursion, we went through the girls’ clothes and made a list of the things they needed. As we shopped around with the list in mind, it was neat to talk about our list, our budget, and let the girls think about how to spend their clothing money. We splurged a bit, and frugal’d too. In the end, we walked away with items the girls love and we found everything under one roof!

You have to love technology… Westfield has an app! I kid you not when I say I used the map feature probably a dozen times!

I’d open the app, click map, then “find directions”, enter the store I wanted to go, then the name of the place we were… and BOOM. IT. WAS. AWESOME! Of course I used the offers feature as well. I also saw a sign on the door to text JC Penney’s for their deal… got that too!

I also searched Reatilmenot.com the night before, printed a couple coupons, and downloaded their app as well!

Our day was a score on so many levels… fashion, productivity, and girl time!

Would you like some fun shopping time? Head over to Westfield Southcenter’s Facebook page NOW to enter for your chance to win a $1000 Westfield Southcenter gift card! THINK OF THE FUN! THINK OF THE FASHION! THINK OF THE MEMORIES!  Just like the page and it’s a simple entry from there!

So tell me… what are your back-to-school must haves? Ours seem to include sparkle, slip on shoes and lots of color, but…

What is on your list this year?

*Disclosure: A big thanks to Westfield Southcenter for this sponsored partnership. It’s not everyday when part of a job requires fun with your kids. I was provided a giftcard and compensation for shopping and sharing our experience. All opinion and expereince are my, and my daughters’ own. And big brother is a bit jealous. Don’t worry. He goes next week to check of his list.
