Will you be near Seattle on Thursday April 20th? If so… MARK YOUR CALENDAR, FRIENDS!
Amazon Celebrates World Book Day with a Global Free Library in Seattle!
*This post is brought to you in partnership with Amazon Books. All opinion and such things are my very own!
What is this Global Free Library event you speak of, Jenny?
Good question!
Amazon is hosting a celebration in honor of World Book Day (which falls on Sunday, April 23) on April 20 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. in Seattle. To celebrate, Amazon employees and book publishers are donating books to load-up the free library SO THAT community members (i.e. YOU… ME… YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS) can bring a book to donate and take one home to enjoy. You can find more information here!
Update! Check out the highlight video of the events!
Who is invited?
YOU, my fellow story lovers!
The Gist: Attendees will not only find a new book to explore, but if you donate a book – you can write a message on a bookmark so the next person who gets your book understand what the book meant to you.
Think of it like this… say I bring in one of my latest reads to the event – A Man Called Ove.
The book I leave would include a little note about how the book impacted me…
*insert cute emoti-heart here*
Do you like that little bookmark? You can download it and one other for free HERE. You might need to play with your printer a bit – printing full size will get you an 8×10 sized bookmark. I reduced mine to 50%, trimmed it with a handy pair of scissors and boom – BOOKMARK!

As a lover of stories, I especially love the bookmark piece to the event on April 20th. Not only will there be loads of books to choose from, but personal stories will be tucked inside.
Like a hidden treasure.
That’s part of the charm about community free libraries… connecting, in a way, to other book lovers in your community. Real life hidden treasures.
Nothing whisks a person away like a good book.
It’s never a bad time to discover a new, good book.
Tell me, do you #LovetoRead?
If so, what book(s) are you reading right now and what is your favorite book to recommend?
