*I received two media tickets to see the show. All opinion is my own.
Tuck Everlasting Review at the Kitsap Forest Theater
There are a couple of things I can write about here: Tuck Everlasting and Kitsap Forest Theater.
Which do you want to hear about most? I knew very little about BOTH.
Let’s start with the play… Tuck Everlasting. The Tuck family is a family that happened upon and drank from a spring that gave them everlasting life.
Sounds like a pretty lucky break, right?
Ah…. and there’s the twist.
The play is all about… THAT. The idea of living forever vs…. well here’s a quote from the show:
Don’t be afraid of death; be afraid of an unlived life.
Tuck Everlasting at Kitsap Forest Theater has just TWO MORE SHOWS… August 18 & 19 at 2 p.m. You can get ALL the details about tickets and directions and more on their website here.
Kitsap Forest Theater is tucked away into a magical forest… a perfect setting for a production like Tuck Everlasting.
It is not a theater just for those of us who live in or near Kitsap County… this is a destination experience. MAKE THE TRIP, Y’ALL.
A quarter-mile trail transports visitors to another time and place where stories for all ages have come to life since 1923. Generations of theatergoers have enjoyed the scenic drive or ferry ride to the theater…
Kitsap Forest Theater has been entertaining theatergoers for nearly ONE HUNDRED YEARS.
On the day we went, we arrived shortly after one in the afternoon (the shows start at two). This gave us plenty of time to park, buy tickets (but you can buy them online too), check out the concession stand, use the restroom, and head down the quarter mile trail to the outside theater… surrounded by trees.
There’s a huge tree on site and a playground, aaaaand it’s a perfect place for picnics too. Folks are encouraged to come earlier or stay after the show to explore. But the trail to the show opens at one.
I live in Kitsap County and CANNOT believe I have never been. BUT… this is not just for locals. This is truly a delightful experience that warrants that ferry ride, or long drive.
If you CAN make one of the next two performances of Tuck Everlasting… I encourage you to. Tickets available here!
More reasons to go:
1) You can see one of our favorite actors – who plays Jesse Tuck – Cole Zeiser. He used to perform with my girls at Kitsap Children’s Musical Theatre. Then he grew up! (Also… audience members are invited down after the performance to meet the actors!)
2) It’s a great story. It’s a sweet reminder to embrace this journey of life… each age and each stage. You will laugh. And you will cry (PRO TIP: BRING TISSUES). You experience this all while breathing in fresh air and surrounded by beautiful trees…
Do check the Kitsap Forest Theater website for more information and learn about this little diamond tucked away in here in our very own backyard.
