My family recently went to Coeur d’Alene (try typing THAT 3 times fast!) for our summer escape.
WE LOVE COEUR D’ALENE!
CDA (Coeur d’Alene) is in Idaho. And there’s a big lake there.
A BIG ONE.
(This is the sunset from they place we stayed. This is only PART of the lake…)
Something fun to do on lakes is going in a BOAT on a lake, and that is something I’m really into right now.
*Disclosure: Vacation Rental Authority of CDA let us use one of their pontoon boats for a day in hopes we would enjoy it and that I would share that joy with you. I’m glad we had a great time because it would have been very awkward to have had to share about a bad time. So it worked out for both parties! I love it when things work out!
This was our second year going to CDA. It has become “our place”.
It’s warm and sunny and clean and there are just enough tourist-y options downtown to keep our busy-ness as busy as we want. Which isn’t much.
There’s a spot downtown (Tap House) that serves chicken and waffles half the size of our teenage son… And a list of microbrews so vast, every table has an iPad to tour the brew options!
We are not big hikers, but I hear there’s some great hiking places. And we are not crazy night-life people, so the pace of living for a week off one of the many bays (Gotham Bay is where we’ve landed the last 2 stays) is perfect for us. We spent most our time swimming when we wanted and eating lots of bags of chips on the deck.
And of course, eating chips ON A BOAT…
And building up an appetite to eat MORE chips..
LAKE LIFE is THE LIFE.
Of course, you can just Google to get information on where to stay and what to do while in CDA. But… if you like word-of-mouth recommendations, I do recommend you check out Vacation Rental Authority. We’ve rented the same house two straight years through them, and have had a great experience. And then this year… it was such a treat to have the opportunity to check out a pontoon boat. It is definitely something we have on our list for the next time we go. And we will go again. It’s our THING now.
