Thankgoodness it's back to school… A.K.A #TGIBTS, y'all!
I was reminded the other day that I am not the only mom ready for the start of the school year… not the only one looking forward to a bit more routine than the summer gives.
I was reminded because I threw a back to school party. I threw it at a local brewery because supporting local businesses ROCKS and it's an all-ages venue and it meant I didn't have to clean my house and also I am brilliant.
The party was legit. There were #TGIBTS decorations, and t-shirts for everyone, and a HUGE platter of quesadillas and taquitos and stuff…
And there were PEOPLE! Some of the very best people, in fact.
Yep. REAL PEOPLE. People + decorations = PARTY, right?
I might be a little bit partial to these specific people, on account of the fact they are my friends.
Oh yeah… and there was a game. It's not a party without a game, right?
We played Pin The Kid On The Bus.
Who knew moms would get so excited about getting their kids onto a bus?
WE KNEW!
I think the group did a really good job on the game, overall. I think a couple may have been peeking. But cheating or no cheating… it was clear each mom wanted to get her kids safely on the bus. And for their solid gaming effort each mom went home with a $3 off 2 packs of undies from Fruit of the Loom coupon so their kiddos will be able to get on the bus with clean undies and Start Happy!
If you were to have a back to school party, what would you and your people do? Would you have decorations? Would you invite moms from school, or friends outside of your child's school, or…
