HI FRIENDS!
ARE YOU SO HAPPY IT’S SUMMER?!
I am so glad to change up the routine, and SO happy the sun is OUT!
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Banana Boat ®. All opinion and facts about how I keep my family protected are mine that have taken years to develop and obsess about.
But, when the sun is out… so is the risk of sun burns.
That means the time is NOW to prepare to be ready not only for planned fun in the sun, but unplanned fun in the sun. In my post last week, here, I shared about how I make sure we are prepared for the planned and unplanned times in the sun. I have to say, that sun protection basket has been a sanity saver.
It gives the kids a feeling of independence to know where the sunscreen in, and it frees up my time to not have to be the gatekeeper/sunscreen location detective. The hardest job I have is to check in on the basket and make sure it’s stays stocked with Banana Boat®.
And that effort paid off just this week when I texted a friend, “What’s up?” She texted back, “We’re going to the beach!” And I texted, “We’re there!” A couple chores and a few sandwiches later, we threw on our suits, grabbed towels, and raided the sun protection basket and flew out the door.
Before driving away, I double checked, “Did you get your face?” And I passed back the Banana Boat® face sunscreen and reminded them, “Get your ears!”
The beach we went to was about 20 minutes away and sunscreen should be applied a half hour before heading out, so between the drive time and getting our gear out of the car, making sure that important pice happens in the car works out for us.
Of course, sun protection should be reapplied every 2 hours, so along with the towels and chairs and water bottles, the sunscreen makes it down to the beach with us too.
