Since I am a mom, I am TOTALLY on board with this holiday! Mama deserves a little thanks… a nod… a clever sentiment… a hug.
I’ve been thinking about the best advice I’ve ever received about motherhood.
Let me tell ya… I have received A LOT of advice. Not all of it solicited… ::ahem::
At this point in my mothering, I think the best words of advice I’ve been given have been,
ENJOY IT. IT GOES FAST.
MAN ALIVE. It DOES go fast.
My oldest is nearly 14, and my girls are 8 & almost 11. There was a point when I could not imagine life without a diaper bag and 5 point harness car seats. Now we are talking about when my son can get a Facebook profile and dealing with 5th grade girl drama.
There are times I long for the days I could strap my babies in a carseat. No peer pressure. Toddler bullying is way different that preteen bullying.
Yet, I am so in love with the life I have with my kids right here right now. Since I look back and long to snuggle the little people my kids once were, I am certain that in 10 years when they are almost 24, 21, and 18 I am going to miss these crazy days too.
So, I pass on the best advice I’ve been given onto you:
ENJOY IT. IT GOES STINKING FAST, YO.
