I was given the challenge to use two Mezzetta products and build my own sandwich. My husband has really good taste and knows a good sandwich, so I laid out the options and together we created quite the little Italian-inspired number. I’d call it a caprese/antipasto sandwich. It’s easy and a GREAT summer sandwich.
Here’s how you build it…
1) Cut your mini baguette in half.
2) Spread one side with soft goat cheese, and drizzle olive oil on the other half.
3) Generously spread the Mezzetta Olive, Parmesan, Garlic spread atop the goat cheese.
4) Add salami.
5) Add a layer of basil and then tomato slices.
6) Cut 2-3 Mezzetta Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives in half and place on top of tomatoes.
Don’t forget to put the other piece of bread on top!
Eat it right away or wrap it in parchment and tie it up and go on a picnic!
Serve with some fresh berries. I like a mix of blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries with a bit of chopped, fresh basil… yum.
And maybe a handful of chips if that tickles your fancy! Chips always tickle my fancy…
And there you have it… a sandwich that goes WAY beyond ham and cheese. A perfect picnic choice, and so full of flavor you will end your meal completely satisfied. And because I am actively looking for ways to cut added sugars from my diet, I am loving all the choices I find with Mezzetta.
