Thick and Thin

No I did not just comment on our respective size.

That’s my friend Sara. A.K.A. MY SARA.

We’ve been through thick moments. And thin.

We have, after all, birthed 5 children between the two of us.

Yikes. THESE genes have been passed on to FIVE new people.

BRACE YOURSELF, WORLD.

Sara is the girl that everyone loves.

You kinda want to find a reason NOT to love her… because she’s so cute. And so thoughtful. And so fun. And so crafty.

You know, she is one of THOSE girls.

Perfect.

And she has no idea.

Sara is one of a handful of friends who has taught me about the value of deep friendship… the art of sacrifice of time, talent and heart in friendship.

I have always been a slow learner.

Sure… My Sara. She’s cute.

But that’s not why I call her friend. That’s not why she has claimed a spot in my heart as Dear Friend.

I’ve known a lot of cute girls.

Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

In this “social” world of Facebook and Twitter and thousands upon thousands of connections, it is remarkable how lonely life can feel.

The more “connected” I become… the less connected I feel.

Nothing replaces the touch and feel of friendship.

the we

Absolutely nothing.
