Hi friends! I am SUPER excited to share with you 5 fun, creative and easy ideas for Halloween treats.
5 Halloween treats in one post?!
You read that right!
TREATS.
HALLOWEEN TREATS, to be exact!
THE PEOPLE WANT TREATS!

It’s hard to cover the how-to of 5 things in a video that one intends to keep on the short side. So I’ll try to break the directions for each of the Halloween treats a little better here!
Rice Krispy Treat Pumpkins!
- A home-made batch of Rice Krispy Treats NOT formed in a pan – you will do the forming.
- Orange Wilton Candy Melts
- Pretzel sticks (rods)
- Sprinkles
- Optional: mustaches (I found mine in the party section – labeled as “Table Scatter”)
These take a little time and careful handling (hot, melted marshmallows – careful!). Make a batch of Rice Krispy Treats per package directions. While still warm, spray your hands with cooking oil (canola, whatever)… take a big scoop of gooey treat matter and form into a ball.
Set aside and form another. Go back to balls that have been set aside and make sure the balls are still in balls. You may need to re-ball a touch, but as the mix cools, the ball form will stay. While the ball is still a bit pliable, take about an inch or two of pretzel stick and make a hole for the ‘stem’. Set aside.
Spread melted orange candy onto the ball. Sprinkle with sprinkles. Add the stem back in that hole you made when the Rice Krispy Treat was warm. You may need to add a bit of melted candy to base of stem to get it to stick in firmly.
Drink Box Mummies
These little mummies are cute and easy. They require no cooking. The ‘ingredients’:
- juice boxes
- white crepe paper
- scissors and tape
- google eyes
For my boxes I cute the crepe paper length-wise (to make it half as chubby) (because my juice boxes were small ones). Tape one end of the crepe paper to the juice box and start wrapping!
Mandarin Orange Pumpkins
You can probably make one of these faster than I can type out the directions! Peel a mandarin orange (or other small, orange citrus fruit), and stick a piece of green (apple) kookaburra (licorice) in the top hole. You can also use celery, if you so choose.
Voila!
Nutter Butter Cookie Ghosts (or Mummies!)
I like these because the cookies are already made. You just get to decorate them! You need:
- Nutter Butter cookies
- White Wilton Candy Melts
- mini chocolate chips
To make these you melt the candy, and spread on one side of the cookie. Set aside to harden. When hard, spread melted candy on other side. While candy is still melty, add mini chocolate chips for eyes!
One-Eyed Pretzel Rod Monsters!
What I love about these (besides the sweet and salty dance they do with your tastebuds) is since they are MONSTERS you can be messy!
These guys are made out of:
- Pretzel rods
- White Wilton Candy Melts
- Wilton Candy Eyeballs (I used the large eyeballs)
Alls ya gotta do is melt the candy and spread in on with the back of your spoon. Before the candy has hardened add an eyeball and sprinkles.
Tip: I had to do this in 2 parts, just like the Nutter Butter Ghosts/Mummies. Add the candy melt to one side add sprinkles, let dry then add more white candy melts, sprinkles and eyeball. That candy sets-up in 10 minutes. Unless you live in a really hot place, that is.
