You read that right..
Coconut oil as makeup remover!
Happy Earth Day, friends! And in honor of Earth Day I wanted to share something earthy.
It’s also budget friendly!
I have spent a fair amount of dollars on make-up remover. Not only do I wear make-up, but I have 3 kids who have all spend several years in children’s musical theatre… so YES… I have dropped a fair amount of dollars on eye make-up remover.
But recently I heard or read somewhere (does coconut oil help with improved memory?) that coconut oil could be used as make-up remover.
I have recently been keeping coconut oil around the house because we discovered the magic that is POPPING POPCORN IN COCONUT OIL.
So when I heard that coconut oil was a great eye make-up remover, I headed right on down to my kitchen pantry and stole some.
From myself.
Is that stealing?
Aaaanywho…
I put some coconut oil on a cotton ball and SHAZAM… make-up off!
Even waterproof mascara.
I prefer the coconut oil for many reasons… #1 being… WAY CHEAPER.
Other great reasons I love using it as an eye make-up remover… are it’s natural and it is an excellent moisturizer. After I remove my make-up, I’ll wash my face and then moisturize. I use the coconut oil I already have out on the driest parts on my face.
I use it on my lips.
I use it on my hands.
It’s magical.
But as the title of this post says, I have complied a list of 7 other things that you can do with coconut oil. I found this “101 Uses for Coconut Oil” article if you really want to get your serious pants on about coconut oil. So here’s my own list!
8 Uses for Coconut Oil!
- Eye make-up remover!!!
- Moisturizer
- Lip balm
- Popping popcorn
- Hair conditioner
- Control’s flyaways
- Oil pulling?
- Oh heck…perfume?
In that 101 Uses article she writes that a tablespoon of coconut oil mixed with chia seeds packs quite the energy boost. I have that on my list to try.
Not sure if I am going to try oil pulling or not.
Have you tried it?
HAVE YOU EVER POPPED YOUR POPCORN IN COCONUT OIL?!
Stop whatever you are doing and do that right now. It’s my gift to you.
Once you go coconut oil, you never go back.
Or something like that.
But seriously.
