The cold weather is brutal on our skin. It draws out the moisture. Not only is the resulting dry skin not very pretty to look at, it can also be painful when our skin gets so dry it starts to crack.

In caring for Winter skin I have found the best defense is to moisturize BEFORE it gets to the dry and cracking stages. And moisturize often. If you can find a product with alpha-hydroxy, even better. It helps exfoliate so lotion can dig deeper and be more effective.

When I am done washing up, I squirt a little lotion onto my hands and rub it in. That is the BEST time to put back the moisture that got washed away.

Caring for Winter Skin
