I have a print up in my house, “Let’s stay home.”
The thing is, I love home.
5 Backyard Summer Fun Activities
But there’s a certain excitement about the newness of going somewhere… So how can we create a little excitement around staying home – especially during the summer?
I don’t think we need to build a pool to enjoy our own backyard (or front yard or side yard…). There are loads of ideas out there on the internet almost BEGGING us to stay home and enjoy our very own great outdoors.
1. Sidewalk Chalk Pops // 2. Sponge Bombs // 3. Outdoor Twister //
4. Giant Jenga // 5. Glow-in-the-Dark Ring Toss
These are all fun activities that are relatively easy to pull together! I love the idea of the sponge water bombs – I prefer those over water balloons – ESPECIALLY since we have dogs. I don’t like having to hunt for broken balloon pieces.
Honestly, the Twister game won’t be happening here… our grass is well… I don’t think we can call it grass. But doesn’t that look like so much fun?!
Tell me… what is your favorite outdoor activity to do at home? If I am being completely honest… my favorite activity is sitting on my deck and laughing with friends and family. But the kids always get fidgety, so it’s never a bad idea to have something to keep them busy, right?
