TWO Sweet and Spicy GRILLED Pork Chop Glaze Recipes

Spicy Plum Glaze and Sweet Orange Ginger Glaze

Grilling is easy and adds soooo much flavor.

Sometimes it’s as easy as adding a little salt and pepper to your boneless ribeye pork chops.

Be sure to grill them to between 145 degrees (medium rare) and 160°F (medium). Follow said grilling by a 3 minute rest time for maximum jicey, deliciousness

Yes… I typed 145 degrees, my friends.

What do you add to your chops to bring out their best flavor?

A little salt and pepper never fails, but sometimes it’s nice to add a little pizzaz.

When you run to the store, make sure you chat with all the friends you bump into and the pick up a few things like… pork chops, plum preserves, oranges, pineapple, canned chipotles in adobo sauce…. and why don’t you grab some greens to make a yummy salad as well.

Get those greens!

Heck, maybe even pick up a few extra jars of various types of preserves because CREATIVITY IN THE KITCHEN YO.

Boneless ribeye pork chops are my VERY favorite cut to grill.

It’s not just because I enjoy eating my own grilled chops, but my entire family does too. In fact, one of the kids just the other day said “Mom? Can you make that OTHER chicken. The chicken that I like.”

“You mean pork chops?”, I asked

Hahahahahahaha!!! She is definitely my kid!

Enough blathering. I bet you are just here for the recipes.

That’s cool. I’m getting hungry too!

Sweet Orange Ginger Glaze

The recipe is simple:

1 cup orange juice
2 tsp grated ginger
2 cloves of garlic
2 TBS honey
1 tsp orange zest (divided)
Grated manchego cheese

Pour orange juice into small sauce pan. Add ginger. Cook on medium to high heat for about 10 minutes, or until reduce by about half. Add honey and minced garlic. Reduce until thickness is like jelly. Add 1/2 tsp orange zest and stir. Sprinkle remaining zest on top for garnish. Serves about 6.

Serve grilled chops with a couple tablespoons of glaze on top. I have recently become quite the fan of manchego cheese. Grate up a little bit and sprnkle that on top of the glaze for an added pop of AWESOME… then sit back and wait for the praise to roll in.

But my favorite glaze is without a doubt…

Spicy Plum Glaze

Spicy Plum Glaze for pork chops

You will need:

1/2 cup plum preserves
1/2 canned chipotle pepper (or whole if you like spicy, spicy), diced
1-2 tsp chipotle sauce (2 teaspoons for extra, super , CRAZY spicy)
1 and 1/2 tsp grated ginger
Grated manchego cheese

If your plum preserves contains whole or large pieces of plums, I suggest dicing them. Combine diced plums (in preserve sauce), diced chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, and grated ginger in a small sauce pan. Stir and heat through, about 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with manchego. But only if you like awesome. Should be good for about 6 chops.

THIS GLAZE?

I can’t even. The perfect connection of sweet and spicy is all up in here. Your tastebuds will freak out in the very best of ways.

After trying this for the first time my husband was all, “We need to open a restaurant and just serve this.”

Serve one sauce or both. I think giving people a choice is fun… and pretty too…
