If pictures are worth a thousand words, then this is going to be a really long post. Because being at the Washington State Fair is like entering a whole little city of it’s own. Based on my family’s recent trip, these are just a few idea of things to do at the Washington State Fair!
A city that has Mutton Bustin…
And giant plastic balls that make it possible to walk/flip/summersault on water…
And rides…
And moarrrrre rides…
And cow milking experiences…
And stunt shows…
And kids excited about throwing lemons at the stunt show guys…
And foot “massage” machines…
And fire trucks…
And FISHING!
And of course FOOD.
Lucky for me, the fair folks let you bring in your own food, so going to the fair did not derail my effort to complete the Whole30. I packed LOTS of food…
We utilized the Washington Sate Fair app. Oh it’s awesome. Not only does it show you where to find the places you need to find but it also shows you where you are!
Legit app is legit. A little blue dot floats along as you walk. It rocked our world.
PLUS… it’s a planner in your pocket. Simply download the app to get started. The opening screen will give you the navigation (left photo). At the bottom choose “calendar”. You will then be taken to the screen with all the days (right photo). Select your day.
Once you select your day, you will have to scroll a lot, because there are TONS of things the fair has to offer! Simply scroll through, click on the name of the event for more information. Click on the yellow pin for location… and click on the plus sign to add it to your planner (left photo). And then check out your planner (right photo). When at the fair, navigate to your planner to find where your planned events are and to remind you WHEN your events are.
The Ingram bunch had a great time. We didn’t pack our day with “must dos”. I plugged a few things into our planner but left lots of room to explore. It was the perfect speed for our family. It was our first time at the fair and we were plain old curious about everything. So we did a little of everything… from rides, to food, to a few shows, to exploring the expo hall, to learning that different kinds of cows produce different tasting milk!
And we took lots of selfies… because that is what we do…
And of course, there’s just a straight up selfie of my own self. On account of, BECAUSE and also FERRIS WHEEL SHOT!!!
