Summer hair don’t care!

I have hair that is neither straight nor curly. If I do not style and care for my hair…. especially in the heat of summer, “summer hair” easily becomes “frizzy hair”.

So, while “Summer hair don’t care”… I do care about frizzy hair.

One sure way to fight and help tame the summer frizz beast is using VO5 Solutions Anti-Frizz S & C (shampoo and conditioner).

And Alberto VO5’s Shine, Glow, & Go Beauty Oil.

VO5’s Beauty Oil helps tame the frizz, and it smells LOVELY. And it’s not only for the hair! I love to rub it on my shoulders and elbows too!

Summer rays and exposure can be especially tough on a tame mane, so incorporating products like VO5 Solutions Anti-Frizz S&C along with my my weekly Hot Oil Therapy treatment… helps keep the frizz in check! The Beauty Oil is a great add when I’m done with styling and notice my hair needs a little more TLC.

So, once the hair has been cared for, what do we do with it?!

HAVE FUN!

My girls are joining in on this one and helping me show you a few easy summer hair tricks!

Boho Braids…

Pony with a Twist…

Choose a small section of hair. Form a pony tail. Using a small hair tie, secure the pony tail. Use your index finger to separate the center of the hair in the pony tail between the hair tie and scalp… Put the loose end of the tail through the hole, and pull tail through!

French braid buns…

If you know how to french braid, this is easy. If you don’t know how, then it won’t be all that easy *winky face*. My daughter cranks this bad boy out in minutes.

My daughter did this herself in a matter of minutes. She has long, thick hair. This style is a great way to keep you cool and stylish. Back in my day, french braids had to be smooth and flawless. However, “messy” buns, braids, and pony tails are what’s on trend, so this style really IS easy and perfect for summer!

For me, summer is ALL ABOUT THE HATS! Hats are a great cure for that occasional bad hair day. But actually, I wear hats a lot over the summer to protect my face from the sun… I am a hard-core when it comes to fighting future wrinkles. Hats don’t just have to be about a Bad-Hair-Day cover-up… I find hats are quite fashionable and can be a key piece in fun summer hair!

The cowboy hat with messy braids. Literally, ONE minute.

The fedora with low ponytail flips…

The flips look a lot like braids, but aren’t. They’re just fun and different, and you when you flip through, you can flip over or under… each one give a little different look. Use the same method as I shared with my daughters top pony twist a few photos above!

And finally the floppy sun hat with a side-pony…

Simple simple, simple… but fabulous, fabulous. fabulous.

Since I have long hair, I like to style my hair into a couple of pony tails or braids while sporting a fun hat. Doing that gives my neck a little time to breathe, plus… it looks cute!

How do you style your hair during the summer? Are you a hat person? Do you ever struggle with frizz? How do you deal with it?
