Fa La La La La!!!

Are your halls… decked?

Today I am…

Decorating for the holidays with HomeGoods!

If you are anything like me, I am never done decorating for the holidays. There is always something I can tweak.

*Thanks to HomeGoods providing the gift cards to purchase of these decor items for this post. Now I am able to do more holiday decorating and share it with you! P.S. Don’t go anywhere… there’s a HomeGoods giveaway at the end of this post!

So. I went to HomeGoods the other day. CHECK OUT MY HAUL!

But before I went, I took the HomeGoods Stylescope Quiz! Does the word “quiz” take you back to junior high and freak you out a little.

THIS ONE IS EASY! Simply choose 5 images you love, bada-boom, bada-bing, the Stylescope graders pop out your own style! I’m not going to show you what I chose… NO CHEATING! But when my choices were graded I was given this “grade”:

I giggled when that result popped up. I couldn’t have graded myself better… GLAM AND FUNK + FARM AND URBAN – BELIEVE THAT!!! My self described style is country peppered with contemporary. I love me my simple black picture frames and straight lines, but I also can’t resist baskets and roosters.
Abd you know what? It works!

I was curious, so I clicked through to learn more about the style descriptions I got. Ladies and gentlemen… Farmhouse Glam and Urban Funk side by side:

So, here’s what happens when Farmhouse Glam meets Urban Funk meets Christmas meets HomeGoods…

TAH-DAH!

Some shiny, some rustic, some straight lines…

I love the mix of colors, textures, and styles… a little glitter, a little flare (what fun glass jars, right?!), a little country, yet not too much. Now I have two kitchen table options… jars filled with fun, yet basic ornaments or a country Christmas.

I brought in some items I had already (red bird, ornaments, greenery, thrifted gold candle stand, & berry sprig), but when I went to HomeGoods I also kept my eyes open for creative ways to use non-holiday themed items as well… like the owl. And the clock (which is sitting on my piano with some trees I already had!).

Right now, I am loving the blue that is so popular in Christmas decor… so when I saw that owl, it was a no-brainer. I KNEW she would find the perfect spot among the holiday decorations as well as find another prominent place in my home once the holiday decor comes down.

You know what I learned? I learned jute place mats look really cute on a light, gold shimmery table cloth… country mouse and city mouse meet again!

I love this so much…

Now I need to choose, which goes where. I think the glass jars are going to go on the kitchen island, but light was better for taking pictures at the kitchen table…
