AmLactin Skin Care and Caring for Winter Skin

Winter is upon us, you guys.

I can already feel my cuticles cracking.

Caring for Winter Skin

*This is a sponsored post. I am joining forces with AmLactin Skin Care to talk about winter skin hydration. All opinion is my own.

It’s time to welcome Winter! Welcome crisp air! Welcome scarves and boots! Welcome hot cocoa! Welcome roaring fire in the fireplace! And “welcome”… dry skin!

The cold weather is brutal on our skin. It draws out the moisture. Not only is the resulting dry skin not very pretty to look at, it can also be painful when our skin gets so dry it starts to crack.

WHAT’S A GIRL TO DO?

In caring for Winter skin I have found the best defense is to moisturize BEFORE it gets to the dry and cracking stages. And moisturize often. If you can find a product with alpha-hydroxy, even better. It helps exfoliate so lotion can dig deeper and be more effective.

Lucky for us AmLactin offers a nice variety of skin care options with alpha-hydroxy therapy. What does alpha-hydroxy therapy do? It exfoliates dry, dead skin cells and intensely hydrates. How do I work AmLactin into my life?

– I like to apply AmLactin Foot Cream and Restoring Body Lotion before bed! So I keep a bottle by my bed. I also like to apply the foot cream before I slide on my socks for the day too. Though you can wait to start using it when you NEED it, I encourage using it BEFORE you need it. Cracked heels? WHAT CRACKED HEELS?

– I keep a bottle in my car and purse, like the Hydrating Body Cream. Travel size are perfect for the purse. If you are anything like me, you forget things. It’s OK if I forget to put on my lotion before I leave the house, because I can reach for the bottle I keep in my purse and/or glove compartment… plus, I can make sure my kids are moisturizing too.

When I am done washing up, I squirt a little lotion onto my hands and rub it in. That is the BEST time to put back the moisture that got washed away.

Caring for Winter Skin

Since using AmLactin product with alpha-hydroxy regularly (2-3 times a day), I have noticed not only softer-feeling skin, but “shinier” skin. Maybe “shiny” is not the term, but as I type I can’t help but notice their hydrated look – compared to that ashy/dry look which enhances wrinkles and just looks awful.
