A vlogging SUMMARY, if you will… Vlogging is like swimming?

The hardest thing about vlogging?

It takes more effort than cuddling up with one’s laptop and working through a bout of writer’s block.

I think vlogging is a lot like swimming.

A runner needs shoes and will to get the job done, but a swimmer… A swimmer needs a place to swim… and unless one has a lap pool or lives on a lake without monsters AND WILL… swimming just requires more effort. More gear.

P.S. I do not like open water swimming. On account of the the Loch Ness. And piranhas.

What I am trying to say is… I think vlogging is a lot like swimming. It’s great. It’s my favorite! But it requires more – time… gear… nerve.

Oh time…

giving time the stink eye

And in the interest of time… I am going to not reinvent the wheel and point to a few videos I have already invested time in. Videos about making videos!

Fancy that!

My favorite one is the one I made for Kammie at No Biggie:

And there’s this one – Tricks That Give Your Videos Sparkle!
And this one – Conference Vlogging
And the one I did for Ignite Seattle 11 – How to Become an Internet Movie Phenom Without Taking Your Clothes Off!

I actually have a vlog in my head about how to make vlogging simpler.

But maybe my ideas aren’t so effective since I can’t seem to pull that puppy together.

I am going to be off having a real time this Saturday at Bloggy Boot Camp Seattle! I think I am going to do a bit of blathering about growing a lifestyle blog… with some emphasis on the Twitter and the Facebook. I think I am going to blather about Pinterest too. If that’s not a lifestyle blogger’s virtual playground, then… I don’t have the virtual playground in Pinterest that I thought I did.

And I’m going to talk about vlogging.

I would be remiss if I did not.

(I just wanted to use the word “remiss”… I would be remiss if I did not disclose that).

I think I’m going to share with my Bloggy Boot Camp-ers the video that really inspired me to start vlogging. I know I’ve shared it before, but you want me to share it again?

Do ya?

That about sums it up!

P.S. I’m nervous.

I would be remiss if I wasn’t.

Or would I?

Well I am. Remiss or not.

Also, I love you.

P.S. The Bead Girl is giving a $75 gift certificate over on my review site. This is me texting my BFF and drinking coffee in my new bracelet from her:

it's a wrap bracelt
